Bio

Candace is a graduate of the High School for the Creative And Performing Arts (CAPA); she has studied harp for 13 years along with piano for twelve years, spending eight of those years at the Settlement Music. She is a graduate of Arcadia University (formally Beaver College) with a degree in Music Performance.

Candace has performed for the, NAACP and the Boy Scouts of America Association National Republican Convention, Bill Cosby, Patty Labelle, Edward Rendell, and Will Smith, to state a few. Candace has also been a frequent performer at the Down Town Club, Abington Art Museum, William Penn Inn, Double Tree Hotel, and Boat House Row. She is an alumnus of the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra, Philadelphia young Artist Orchestra and Philadelphia Sinfonia whom toured Europe with.. Candace has performed with the Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra, Old York Road Orchestra, Ambler Symphony, Delaware Symphony orchestra, and Main Line Symphony Orchestra.
Candace took first place in the Mu Omega Fraternity Classical Music Competition and second in the Contemporary Competition, she took First in the NAACP-ACT-SO Competition and fourth in the NAACP-ACT-SO National Competition. Currently she judges these Mu Omega Fraternity competitions. Candace has been awarded ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal School of Music) Distinguished Honors level 7 certificate. Candace continues to perform with various ensembles, she recently performed her own solo arrangement with the Harrisburg Harp Orchestra in 2008 and continues to perform all over the tri-state area.
Candace is a seasoned harpist who has performed for countless weddings, banquets, teas, galas, orchestras, churches, and more. She has an eclectic repertoire from classical to modern, and strives to share it all. Also see www.larkmusicstudio.com

Fun is my middle name!

Students of all ages will follow a structured and challenging lesson plan while truly enjoying themselves.
We have two mandatory recitals a year, with various optional performances through out the year. The students will have fun performing Solos, duets, and trios.
Need to know what to do for that special performance or gig? From preparing your contract to what to wear, I will be glad to be of some assistants.

Although a consultation is not required, it is a great way to meet your harpist, discuss and even hear your selections for the big day.

Please be advised:
Candace will not perform in impending rain or strong wind. Candace must be notified at least thirty (30) minutes before schedule start of performance, plus travel time, if a “rain plan” is in effect. Should Candace be required to stop performing as a result of weather, client will be responsible for the full performance fee set forth in the agreement.

Terms of Performance

Candace Lark will arrive a ½ hour prior to performance; convenient parking, loading and unloading area must be provided. All parking fees must be prepaid and/or added into the final payment in cash. In the case parking and/or parking fees, unloading and loading area is not provided there will be an additional charge of $20.00 that must be included in the final payment.

In the case you are not available a contact person(s) must be provided. This person will be available for any assistants and deliver final payment(s).

The non-refundable deposit is half the total charge. The non-refundable deposit must be returned with the Return Copy of the contract within 30 business days before the event, in the form of check or money order. If the contract is not received within 30 business days before the event The Harpist holds the right to cancel and/or book another event the same day. If Candace Lark herself cancels after receiving the contract with-in the 30-day period you will receive a full refund. In the case of Insufficient Funds an additional $30 charge will apply, $30 payment must be made within 10 business days of I.N.S. transaction by cash or money order only.
